Back to back games rarely produce a maximum return - that has to be our objective. These games, I believe suit us. I use past encounters as a template. Historically, we hold the upper hand against the Met and away at Wingate, the best team on the day usually comes out on top. Both types of games characterised by hard work and concentration. Better start required tomorrow - one year went to Summers Lane, they had scored before I had sat down!
Gaffers subs a masterstroke. I like the idea of half-time subs in principle. I loathe that 20 minute to go reaction to conceding. We score again, twice, in a ten minute time-frame around our allotted preferred time. It's usually three to be fair and and/or one very late. Very definable of our season and yet fascinating to how it manifests.
Specifically to Ashley. I think he looks fresh but slightly under-utilised. First 45, I thought our best movements came via his involvement but seems slightly dis-connected around the box. A lot of passes to tend to break-down in congested areas. He's an in-valuable asset.
Great to see a sizable crowd against the Met. We've acquired some Polish lads - hence the intro. I love those folk and they can handle a Piwo (beer) or two. The barmaids are frisky and playful to boot - one told me they have six different words for biscuit!
I'm off to work out how to get back to Euston in an hour post-match with no Northern Line.
