I have never before found details of any friendlies played in season 1979-80, and had always assumed that none were played.

Many thanks, Rob, for the details. This match is now added into my records, and I expect that Steve will add it to the website once he's back from holiday. Only problem with the detail is that I don't recognise a player named Carrick (another guest player?), and Roughman should be (Alan) Roughan.
