Jekyll & Hyde performances

That would be an understatement comparing Saturday and last night. Plumpton may be only one stop down the line, but we were not at the races against Burgess Hill and it was hugely disappointing (which some might consider to be a euphamism!).
I know we weren’t at full strength, but speaking to Gary this morning, here are seven players (in alphabetical order) missing through injury or unavailability – not suspended – last night: Alfie, Andre, Dale, Dave, Karl, Kevin and Ollie. I accept that all seven would not have started, but I reckon at least four would have and the other three may well have been in the 16.
Does this excuse the awfulness of the performance? No, not in my opinion, but it is a pretty strong mitigating factor.
If it hadn’t been for Billy Collings, Burgess Hill would have been out of sight by half-time and Keagan nearly snatched a stoppage time equaliser which probably would have been the most unjustified draw we would have gained this decade.
