Staines and Farnborough charged £12 last season. Lewes was £11. Apparently St Albans (in Conference South) charged £15 (FIFTEEN!) last season. They only just avoided relegation - wonder whether they'd have kept that price had they ended up in our league? The general trend is usually for one or two clubs to charge over the odds, then the following season lots of others follow suit. Not sure why Merstham's price has to go from £10 to £12, as opposed to £10 to £11. I'd be interested to have sat in on whatever meeting of club officials came to that decision.

When the norm was £8 in D1S a few years back I'd generally hand over a tenner on the gate then use the change to buy a programme; once it became £9 and was no longer enough change to buy a programme I just stopped buying them. These days I don't normally buy a programme unless it's a club I haven't visited before, and I rarely bother with League and County Cup ties whereas a decade ago I'd go to everything.
