That's exactly what I do, and what I advise others to do. And don't give the correct change at the turnstile, give a £20 note and make them give out lots of change, then if the turnstile operator moans just say "well, if you only charged a tenner like everyone else ...."

It's more understanable clubs coming down from the higher level not wanting to drop their prices when they've already been charging £11/£12 (although still no real reason why they shouldn't for an inferior level) but for the likes of Merstham to increase the price from £10 to £12 in only their second season at this level is taking the proverbial. Then some people will say "well, it's only a couple of quid". It's a 20% increase. Imagine if everything you bought went up by 20% next month: 70-80p on the price of every pint at the pub; 10p on a pint of milk etc. Or a 20% increase in rent and utility bills! Anyone had a 20% pay rise recently?
