I admit that I have never been to Brentwood fc and have no idea what state their pitch was in today. However, the facts are that Brentwood were confident of the match going ahead, the weather was dry, sunny and windy; in other words there was no possibility of the pitch deteriorating. So the postponement does seem puzzling. I also find it hard to believe that conditions would have been worse than in our home game against Wingate and Finchley! But maybe I am wrong.
There may have been a "silver lining" to balance the disappointment of January's postponements by getting injured and suspended players back, but now with only 2 competitive games in 6 weeks, it must be stretching everyone's patience. Another thought - Isn't it time that ground grading criteria also took into account playing surfaces?
