I could not let the fine write-up on Uche pass without recalling his astonishing goal, (referred to in the tribute) in the Full Members' Cup defeat at Aylesbury. It actually was not an equaliser , but came late in the game with Aylesbury out of reach. However, Uche collected the ball inside his own half and proceeded to accelerate past every Aylesbury player in sight finally turning another couple of defenders inside out before unleashing a bullet into the corner of the net from the edge of the area. It was just a shame it had not occurred at a more critical moment.

Having said all this, I still think that Uche's amazing overhead kick against Leyton will go down as his best for Hendon, and possibly the best goal that I have seen by any Hendon player. What joy and what memories Uche brought to the club!
