Our defeats have been such seldom events that when they have occured its become a source of fascination trying to look for quandries which may not even exist. Recent oppo's do appear to have cotton on to our strengths and nulified our threat. Our all-round game is probably more mind-stretching.
Only our fourth defeat is an astonishing return, that doesn't mean everything is hunky-dorey.
As for Enfield what can you say. Should we visit next season, I propose we give them the points and save ourselves from freezing to death! They weave the ball neatly through midfield but always have a simple avenue out wide. Their backs push forward, their left-backs notoriously swing in crosses and they can carry the ball forward. They have however only won as many have they have lost. They cause us immense problems with their mobility.
The only semblance of authority we posed was Seeby going forward. There's a lot of ground for Seebs and Ollie to cover, indicative of their goal. On the odd occassion we pulled them wide we had them chasing us.
The K's and Hornchurch due to visit in the next month. 2013/14 both conventional line-ups contained Seeby, (when in arguably his best form), pegged him back and both teams won.
Next the up the boys in blue. What a fantastic job their gaffers done over the years. The odd in-different season, but usually in the mix. There were 80 present the other night.
Wish I could see it. Saw them last Easter, thought on a baking hot day, they looked un-inspiring. They look a bunch of whom need constant re-generation. They adapt to their resources. They used to play crosses around the back of the area. It's a shame I will miss seeing them this season, (unless we meet in the play-offs), for two teams, with solid ethics, management and playing personnel, could have been a classic.
Let battle commence.
