Of the eight league home matches we've played this season against opponents we were pitched against last season, our attendances are showing an increase on the same fixture last time around in all but one - our Bank Holiday Monday game with Harrow Borough.
With the exception of Bury, we have played each opponent on the same day (ie Saturday or Monday) as we did last term, so the comparison stands up pretty well.
The figures (showing 2013/4 first)
Bury Town 116 127
Bognor 141 206
Harrow 207 173
Enfield 180 206
Hampton 163 218
Lewes 154 158
Margate 230 238
Billericay 132 194
This is the best part of a 15% (14.89% for the more precisely minded of you) increase overall.
Clearly, the numbers are still nowhere near where we'd like them to be, but last night it was noticeable the number of people taking advantage of our half price 'Pro Club Season Ticket' offer there were last night. Indeed, the midweek evening attendances have shown a 41.7% increase.
If we can maintain this throughout the remainder of the season (and each one of us can do our little bit to help), and take the momentum with us to Silver Jubilee Park (god-willing in the summer), then there is an increasingly bright future out there for the club.
