The bare facts of today's victory scarcely begin to reflect one of the hardest fought and dramatic games of recent seasons. It was a stunning achievement for Hendon to turn what would have been a well earned draw into a victory, preventing a costly and arduous mid-week trip to Devon. The first sending off, coming so early, was a massive handicap for Hendon, but matters evened-up with the second dismissal and Hendon took full advantage. Perhaps the second sending off was poetic justice, as both decisions seemed harsh.
