Cray - a look back

I too have a bit of a soft spot for Cray Wanderers, though not for their old manager's style of play. Yesterday, they reminded me very much of Gary's team in 2006-07 (on and off the pitch - given their uncertain future finding a new home if this is their last season at Hayes Lane). The new manager Keith Bird has brought in a nucleus of what had been his Bromley reserve team to replace Ian Jenkins' old guard and they will have to learn to take the beatings just like we did. Remember how great that afternoon at Walton when Ross Pickett gave us our first league win of the season? After picking up two points from our first 11 games, we amassed 52 from the last 31. The important thing for Cray is not to wave the white flag and change their style of play, just as Gary didn't. We stayed up as much because we stuck to our principles as anything else.
